With this property, located near to the riverside town of Henley-on Thames, kitchen company Griggs and Mackay approached AF Jones for detailed advice to achieve a clean, classic and welcoming stone finish for this open plan kitchen, utility and boot room with a variety of stone selected for its complimentary tone and texture.

A stone breakfast surface in dark Silestone Charcoal Soapstone Quartz was set off against the Carrara white utility surfaces with the difference defining the two areas in the open plan lay-out and provided a strong solution and warm finish to the light clean look of this fit-out.

The Quartz breakfast top was a sturdy 50 mm thick circular installation, cut to incorporate and create a feature out of a potentially intrusive structural metal pillar at the centre of the kitchen, also providing a striking stone curve in contrast to the clean straight lines across the rest of the design.

AFJ provided a complete service from design, templating, manufacture and installation, to provision of markups of the stone cuts for the client to approve and amend from the outset of the project.
